NULGE chairman urges workers to stay safe, seeks govt’s aid

The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ejigbo LCDA chapter, Mr. Sodiq Lawal, has urged the workers to stay safe, manage their resources, pray and take precautions while staying at home.

Responding to how the local government workers have been coping in the course of the stay-at-home order as the council Secretariat has been locked, Lawal said the workers have not been finding it easy staying at home for about two weeks, explaining that the workers received salaries about two weeks before they were ordered to stay at home.

He added that the workers had spent their salaries on food stuff and that many of them have been complaining that what they have at home has been exhausted.

Lawal therefore appealed for government’s aid for the workers at this period, saying even some of the workers who have other sources of income could not go out again.
