 Sanwo-Olu awards LASU best graduating students N10m, scholarship

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has awarded the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, best graduating students, Oladimeji Idris Shotunde and Olusola Aanu Olabanjo, at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a cash prize of N5m each.

Shotunde, graduated from the Department of Business Administration in the Faculty of Management Science, with the grade point of 4.95 while Olabanjo, finished his Master’s Degree in Computer Science with the Grade Point of 5.0.

Shotunde was also awarded a post-graduate scholarship to any university in the world.

The Governor made this known on Thursday during the investiture of chancellor and award of doctoral degrees at the 24th convocation.

Sanwo-Olu, who is on self-isolation after contracting COVID-19, joined the event virtually from the State House, Marina. He is the Visitor to the University.

He stated that the cash prize is aimed at promoting academic excellence and honouring brilliance. He also reiterated on the commitment of his government in providing students with the best educational experience to make them relevant both locally and internationally.

The Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and Education Commissioner Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo were present at the event.
