 University Mgt to probe staffs over demand of bribe to supervise students

Management of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba (AAUA), Akoko, Ondo State has said it would launch investigation into allegations that some staff members of the institution demand for bribe from postgraduate students of the university.

The AAUA Alumni Association had allegedly accused some workers of the university of demanding for wraps of pounded yam with soup, crates of soft drinks, bitter kola, packets of biscuits and sweets before attending to postgraduate students who wanted to defend their Ph.D thesis.

The allegation was said to have been made at the 2020 Delegate Assembly held on the campus of the institution.

The acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, represented by Prof. Victor Olumekun, apologised to everyone who have been aggrieved about the alleged action of the staffs which he described as shameful. He also stated that the act would not be tolerated in the university.
